3 days’ Teacher Enrichment Meet- 4-6 Feb. at DPS Ferozpeur

Ferozepur, February 4, 2016 : Delhi Public School – a name needs no introduction – working in this border town under the aegis of DPS Society New Delhi, organized three days’ “Teacher Enrichment Meet” at Delhi Public Society from 4th to 6th February, 2016 for all the Delhi Public Schools of Punjab i.e Abohar, Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Mohali, Pathankot, Patiala and Sangrur.
Delhi Public School Society is one of the largest institutions providing education at school level in India. It has a large number of schools under its control in India and abroad. The school provides a truly enabling environment to contribute to the holistic development of each student. The school is alive to the challenge of moulding students to be life-long learners by developing their skills as academic achievers, progressive thinkers, effective communicators and empowered citizens who ‘think local but act global’.
The Program Director, Mrs Zeenat Khader along with Resource Persons, Mrs Madhurima Mitra, Sr. Faculty DPS Rohini, Ms Suhasini Manu, Sr. Faculty, DPS, East of Kailash and Ms. Sonia Shiv, Sr. Faculty DPS East of Kailash were welcomed by the Pro-Vice Chairperson of DPS Ferozepur, Dr. Mrs. Rajinder Sooch and The Principal, Dr.Mrs. Rakesh Sachdeva.
The morning began with the ice breaking session and the Programme overview given by the Dr. Mrs Zeenat Khader, the Program Director, she also gave an enriching workshop on “Effective Classroom Management” as a prerequisite to learning and teaching.
Later in the day the Resource Persons took workshops of the teachers who were divided into three groups, Group-A(Nursery to Prep); Group –B(Grade 1 to Grade 3) Group C (Grade 4 to Grade 7 )
Group A had two sessions titled ,”All Aboard our class train” and “Play, learn & grow together”. Group B also had two sessions titled; “Back to the basics in English & Hindi” and “Problem Solving”. Group C were also enriched with two sessions on “Four Operations and Application in real life” and “Developing listening skills”.
The visiting team took around of the school with the Principal, DPS-Ferozepur, Dr. Mrs. Rakesh Sachdeva and also had a discussion on “The Challenge of Academic Excellence at DPS-Ferozepur” with Dr. Mrs. Zeenat Khader, Jt. Secretary, DPS Society.
The day ended with an interactive session with all the teachers of the participating schools with the program Director, Mrs Zeenat Khader.
