Health department speed up COVID-19 testing and vaccination drive in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, March 21, 2021: The district administration has sped up the corona testing due to a surge in the number of Covid-19 positive cases in the district, with 25 reported today.
As many as 906 samples were taken on Sunday and 203 were given the first and second dose of Corona vaccination.
As per the latest report, 102955 samples were taken since the epidemic of coronavirus, out of which 97128 were tested negative, 4951 positive, 4641 recovered and 152 are still active in the district with 157 deaths. The results of 876 samples are still awaited.
The district administration, health and police departments have jointly once again speed up the awareness campaign, Covid testing and distribution of masks besides the vaccination programme to put a check over the transmission of the virus. Against 19515 registrations for vaccination, 15344 persons including frontline workers have already been given the first dose and second dose shot have also been started.
Making an appeal to the citizens, DC Ferozepur Gurpal Singh Chahal said, only with the cooperation of all, we can win over the cornavirus. All must ensure to wear masks, washing hands frequently and maintaining social distances. He also asked for registration for Corona vaccination without any fear as it is safe.
