21 new Covid-19 positive cases surfaced in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, March 20, 2021: On Saturday, 21 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in the district and active cases in the district are now 155.  For the last 38 days, there has been a gradual increase in positive cases.

As per the report, 102049 samples were taken in the district since the outbreak of the virus, out of which 96378have been tested negative, 4926 as positive with 4613  recoveries leaving 155 as active cases as of now.  However, still, the report of 742 cases is awaited.  There had been 157 deaths due to Covid in the district including one today of a 75-year-old male in Block Guruharsahai.

The district administration, health and police department are up in arms to ensure the follow-up of Covid-19 protocols by educating the people at all levels.  Even the police department has taken the initiative to distribute masks to the road siders not wearing masks and arranging to sample for Covid-19.

At the same time, the vaccination campaign has also been started and as of today medical bulletin, 15131 –  say 79.1 percent have been given the Covid vaccine against the registration of 19120 of different age groups including health staff and frontline workers under first and second dose.
