Ahead of Independence celebrations, SSP briefed QRT team to handle weapons for better tactics
Ferozepur, August 13, 2022: When Indendence Day around the corner, the police is up in arms to tackle any challenge besides keeping vigil at all sensitive places.
Firing practice is an essential part of training to keep our specialised teams ready to counter any untoward situation posting threat to the security, said Surendra Lamba, Senior Superintendent of Police, while briefing the cops on how to handle weapons for better tactics. He said, the more you sweat on training, the less you bleed in battle.
Added here, DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav had proposed to deploy at least one Quick Reaction Team (QRT) and 2 Armed Reserves per district having highly trained and well-quipped police personnel trained on the lines of Special Operations Group (SPG) to deal with emergent situations.
Besides, Instructions have also been issued by DGP, to increase the manpower in all the police stations in their jurisdiction by withdrawing police personnel from non-core duties. He had also made it clear that black sheep in the uniform would not be tolerated and if anyone found indulged in any kind of malpractices would be dealt with a heavy hand.
The Quick Reaction Team (QRT) members were briefed at the police lines on Friday on how to handle weapons for better tactics and later the whole team did firing practice in view of security preparedness for Independence Day Celebrations-22, said SSP.
