Fuel Price Hike: Congress workers stage protest against government
Ferozepur, April 4, 2022: With the climbing of petrol and diesel prices rapidly in India, with the government continuing to underline that the war in Ukraine is one of the main factors behind the spike, the Congress works on Monday gathered outside the district administrative complex to protest inflation and increase in petrol, diesel and LPG prices, ten times within ten days. The protest was held by beating the empty canisters.
The Congress leaders shouted slogans and held placards saying “Rollback fuel price hike” and “Chunav khatm, loot chalu” – With the elections over, the loot has begun.
It is pertinent to mention that the party has also launched a Twitter campaign, called ‘Mehangai Mukt Bharat’ (price rise-free India). Party leaders and state units of Congress put up posts against the rising fuel prices using the hashtag.
Speaking on the occasion, district Congress president, Rajinder Chhabra said, the Modi government is exploiting the common man with an additional burden. The government has to stop doing this and ensure that prices do not rise. In case, no break is put by the central government in controlling the prices, the protest will be intensified.
