13 Science Teachers honoured with ‘Ambassador of Science’ award on National Science Day
Ferozepur, March 4, 2023: Mayank Foundation Successfully organised National science Day with the cooperation of Punjab state council of science and technology under the able guidance of Dr. Jatinder Kaur Arora, Executive Director and Dr. K.S. Bath joint-Director & with the support & guidelines of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, at the local Harmony Medical College.
Yogesh Bansal, Director, Harmony Medical College, presided over the program. Ashok Behl, Secretary Red Cross, Subodh Kakar, Director Ferozepur Medicity Hospital and Afsana, Piramal Foundation participated as special guests.
On this occasion, apart from expert talk on the theme ‘Global Science for Global Well-being ‘, inter-college poster making and rangoli making competition were
also organized in which students from 9 colleges of Ferozepur district participated with enthusiasm.
Keynote speaker Prof. Anil Kumar Sethi describing the National Science Day said that the theme of ‘Global Science for Global Wellbeing’ perfectly coincides with India taking over the presidency of the G20 which is part of the Global South i.e. Asia, Africa and South America will become the voice of the developing countries of the continent.
He said that National Science Day is celebrated with the aim of spreading the message about the importance of science and improving the daily lives of common people. Apart from this, many other purposes are also taken care of in its celebration. On the occasion of National Science Day, all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science are displayed. Through this, the citizens of India interested in science have to be promoted by providing opportunities to them.
Project Coordinator Rakesh Mahar said that on this occasion, 13 teachers who spread science in rural areas were honored with ‘Ambassador of Science’ award by Mayank Foundation.
Inter college rangoli competition
First – Harmony Ayurvedic Medical College, Second Diet Ferozepur and the third prize was bagged by HKL Group of Institutions, Guruharsahai.
In the painting competition, first prize was won by Guru Nanak College, second prize was won by HKL Group of Institutions, Guruharsahay and third prize was won by Harmony Ayurvedic Medical College. All the winners were presented with cash prizes, trophies and certificates.
Secretary Rakesh Kumar, Harnam Singh, Kamal Sharma, Rakesh Mahar, Deepak Sharma from Mayank Foundation and teachers and students of the participating colleges were present on this occasion.
