10 booked under Electricity Act 2003 for power theft at Zira
Ferozepur, December 20, 2022: On the complaint of Assistant Executive Engineer, Sub Division, Zira, 10 persons have been booked, under 135, Electricity Act 2003 and Sections 379, 336 IPC for arranging supply by putting ‘kundi’ at 10 KV in front of Malbros Liquor Factory for personal interest without permission from the Electricity Board and placing one transformer not conforming to the departmental norm.
The accused have bedn identified as Gurbagh Singh, Baldev Singh, Gurmail Singh, Fateh Singh, Balwinder Singh, Jagtar Singh, Gurjant Singj, Balraj Singh, Jugraj Singh and Nirmal Singh. However, no arrest has been made so far and investigation has been entrusted to Baljinder Singh IO.
